Elgin Pharmacy: 40th Anniversary Marketing Campaign
Decades of community trust, turned into a moment people showed up for.
The Challenge: Turning 40 Years of Trust Into Visibility
Elgin Pharmacy had spent 40 years earning the trust of its community, and the anniversary was the perfect moment to celebrate it out loud. The goal was to turn that goodwill into real visibility: to reach more neighbors, grow the page’s following, and bring the community together around the milestone. With no hard targets set, success meant one thing, momentum, measured against the weeks leading up to the campaign.
The Strategy: A Campaign Built to Spread Itself
Turn the milestone into momentum. Instead of simply announcing the anniversary, we built a campaign designed to spread itself. The centerpiece was a grill giveaway that required liking and publicly sharing the post, so every entrant put Elgin Pharmacy in front of their entire friend list for free. We anchored everything in the pharmacy’s own 40-year story, ran nine coordinated posts across Facebook, Instagram, and Google Business, and put a small boost behind just two of them as a multiplier, not a crutch. It all built toward a live 40th anniversary event on June 20.
The Results: 62,634 Reached in 21 Days
In just 21 days, 62,634 people saw the campaign, over 6 times the reach of the three weeks before it. And people did not just scroll past. They liked, commented, and shared 2,841 times, 53 times more interaction than the period before. New social media follower growth accelerated 74×, from 5 in a comparable period to 368 during the campaign. It closed with a live event of about 200 guests, earned media on WIS-TV, MSN.com, Kershaw County Current, The Elgin News, KOOL 102.7, and the SC Pharmacy Association magazine, and Elgin Pharmacy Day proclaimed by both the Town of Elgin and Kershaw County Council.
